I can not remember a time when I got out of bed later than 9:30am.
Refreshing? Possibly. I mean, I
had to get up and let the dog out so he didn’t pee on my floor. (He does that.)
But then I went back to bed (5:30am) because it was just too darn early to be
up! We had a cook out yesterday with lots of people. Cooking. Eating. Talking.
Laughing. It was good, but tiring. Most everything was also cleaned up before I
went to bed so there was little to do this morning. I drank coffee and had a
piece of cake. I also color-coordinated my calendar with soccer games and
gymnastics meets. I’m all ready for the busy fall season.
Today is a “free day” so I plan to write. (Names needs to be completed!!)
I also have homework for my English class due Wednesday.
For the last couple years I have not been a fan of kids going back to
school before Labor Day. WAY TO EARLY if you ask me. But, now that I am in
school too, and the school for them is getting harder, I think it is a good
idea. This way they can ease into it. After this first week, we were ALL
exhausted! And then with a birthday party yesterday (not for me), we NEEDED
today off! It is 10:30 and we are all up now, but the house was very quiet for
a long time. Normal Monday mornings are hectic. Kids up, all trying to get
ready to catch the bus or whatever. Me running out the door at 8:45am now that
I am a college student. (haha) We are scheduled into a busy season of life.
As I said in the last blog, I used to complain about it, but realized
that this is what lots of people do. At least in this area. Maryland, as well
as the DC Metro Area, is a very busy place. Not laid back much at all. Maybe in
Texas, but not here. So if I choose to live here, this is the life I lead.
Crazy busy. So I need to deal.
I think this year I have come to terms with that and I see the need to
be organized and scheduled for the first time ever. I was never good at
schedules before. I’m a wing-it kind of gal. Not now. Necessity has produced
change. I can relax and blow off time when I am caught up on the necessary
things. What are they? Laundry, cooking, homework, driving to scheduled events,
and yes, the most important, WRITING!!!! I am trying to write everyday possible.
I’ve written something at least 4 days a week for the last month. I’d like to
see that increase to 5-6 days a week. Word count? IDK. I shoot for 1500-2000
words a day, but sometimes that is hard to attain. But I am confident it will
happen.
I am also determined to get my “hoarding” under control and clean out my
house!!! HUGE GOAL there!

ReplyDeletefirst thought is, "Um, no." haha. I'm not that bad, really. I just need to schedule in time to to it. One thing at a time needs to be pitched. I have a plan.
